It’s March, y’all, and this month promises to be quite busy for Arianne Bellizaire Interiors!
We’ll be presenting our design concepts to several clients this month, moving closer to installation on other projects and starting the on-boarding process with a few new clients.
Exciting times ahead, and in this first full week of the new month, we are starting off with a BANG!
You might remember that I travelled to Orlando earlier this year for KBIS 2017.
Well, while I was there, I discovered that refrigeration and storage icon Perlick was hosting a competition to search for an “Ambassador of Cool!”
It sounded like fun, so I thought, “What the heck? I’ll give it a try!”
So, I dropped into their KBIS booth, did a quick stand-up interview on camera that served as my official “audition” for the contest…and then went on about my way.
You can imagine my surprise when I received a phone call last month congratulating me on being selected as one of FIVE finalists!!!!
Each week since mid-February, Perlick has been introducing one finalist a week to their social media followers. (You can learn more about the other amazing finalists over on Perlick’s Facebook page!)
Before I tell you any more about the contest, I need to tell you about Perlick and what makes them so special!
This year, Perlick is celebrating 100 years of innovation, or as they like to call it “100 years of cool.”
That means that for a century, this company has been committed to provide the most innovative food and beverage storage and serving solutions.
Their residential product line is award-winning and features indoor AND outdoor under-counter refrigerators, wine reserves, freezers, freezer and refrigerator drawers, ice makers and beer dispensers.
You can learn more about their history and their product line on their website!
To celebrate their prolific history and this milestone anniversary, Perlick decided to launch a search for a fresh face to be their Ambassador of Cool for 2017!
My Favorite Perlick Products
Perlick designs products that are a dream for anyone who loves to cook and entertain, and here are a few of my favorites:
“The 48″ Signature Series Wine Reserve is perfect for any entertainer who loves to have lots of bottles of wine on hand for guests!”
“The 15″ Signature Series Clear Ice Maker is ideal for the entertainer who loves cocktails! The clear ice that it produces is not only visually pleasing, but it is made without impurities and doesn’t melt as quickly!”
“The innovative design of the 24″ Signature Series Dual-Zone Refrigerator/Freezer Drawers provides neatly organized and easy to access ingredients for the resident chef!”
“The 15″ Signature Series Refrigerator is perfect for storing the taller bottles and jars that can’t fit in the dual-zone drawers, and it has shelving that pulls out completely for easy retrieving!”
So now you may be thinking, “Well that’s great, but how can I incorporate this into MY kitchen?”
Well, you’re in luck!
I’ve created my version of a Perlick dream kitchen to show you these four products in action!
Perlick Dream Kitchen
My goal for this space was to create a kitchen that was perfect for someone who loves both cooking AND entertaining.
Those two primary functions absolutely drove my decision-making process as I decided how to design this space and what products/materials to use in the space.
This dream kitchen can be broken down into three main spaces:
- The bar area for entertaining
- The breakfast nook for eating
- The cook station for preparing meals and hot drinks
The bar area is located to the left of the breakfast nook so that guests can access wine and cocktails without ever having to interfere with the cook’s “work triangle.”
However, the bar area is still close enough to the sitting and cooking areas that this does not prohibit the chef from being a part of the conversation and fun!
I chose the glass door model of the 48″ Signature Series Wine Reserve because I believe the openness of the glass doors is a good balance for the full inset door panels on the wall cabinets.
I also personally like to be able to see how my wine stash is looking so that I know when it’s time to replenish!
To the right of the wine reserve, I placed the 15″ Signature Series Clear Ice Maker.
It makes so much sense to have the ice maker here because it is readily accessible to guests who prefer a cocktail or chilled drink.
It also allowed me to create a counter space with enough surface space to display wine and cocktail glasses as well as a few appetizers that guests can nosh on while the main course is being prepared!
The breakfast nook and the island are located between the bar area and the cooking area to allow for plenty of seating for guests.
Since this is a kitchen designed around the concept of frequent entertaining, I choose to cover the custom banquette and bar stools in two of my favorite Crypton fabrics.
JF Fabrics Meredith Heron Crypton Home Color Concepts “Cameo”
JF Fabrics Dimensions Crypton Home “Andre”
These fabrics are not only luxurious but they are also STAIN RESISTANT so the food and wine can flow freely without the stress or worry of spills!
I also chose a low maintenance Caesarstone Quartz in Blizzard for a low maintenance, hypo-allergenic countertop surface.
The island serves as the ultimate prep station for the cook, and includes a galley sink, a dishwasher and pull-out garbage drawer…
…but it’s the cook station where Perlick products take this experience to the next level!
Right next to the range oven, I’ve placed the 24″ Signature Series Dual-zone Refrigerator/Freezer Drawers as well as the 15″ Signature Series Refrigerator.
By placing these Perlick products right next to the range, I’ve saved the chef the trouble of having to walk long distances to retrieve items, and I’ve made the work triangle super efficient!
As a bonus, the 15″ Signature Series Refrigerator is located near the built-in coffee maker so that the coffee lovers in the house can easily access creamer, almond milk, etc.
Now that you know more about Perlick and their search for the next Ambassador of Cool, I need your help!
All week, Perlick will be spotlighting me as one of their finalists.
I would LOVE it if you would go check out their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, like their posts and comment with a little shoutout to me!
It would be an honor to be Perlick’s #AmbassadorOfCool, but honestly, all of the finalists are cool in their own right and definitely worthy of carrying this moniker!
Nevertheless, let’s give it our best shot! 😉
