If you’re a regular reader, you know that I love to share some of my favorite things one Friday each month.
For this month’s favorites, I’m sharing a few of my favorite Instagram accounts that make me “inspired to style!”
Whether they are designers, architects, world travelers or artists, take some time this summer to follow along with these IG Superstars!
DAY IN THE LIFE OF
The first two accounts are designers who excel at the new IG stories feature.
I like to call these “day in the life of” accounts!
Erika Ward and Cheryl Luckett use “stories” in a powerful way to show you a behind the scenes look at a day in the life of a designer.
These two ladies also happen to be friends of mine, so I’m a little biased, but I promise you’ll enjoy the knowledge and inspiration they share daily!
"I believe that your home should be a haven, and that shouldn’t have anything to do with the size of your budget." So honored to be @styleblueprintcharlotte's #InteriorsDesign Crush! I'm dishing on my philosophy, favorite places to shop and how I create the look for less. Stop by their website (and subscribe to the newsletter) to check it out! #linkinmybio #charlottedesigner
The next two accounts offer some SERIOUS design eye candy while being consistent and on brand.
When you see an image from one of these accounts, you know it’s theirs because it fits in wth their unique points of view.
Studio McGee offers crisp, clean, thoughtfully styled interiors.
Ishka Designs offers more contemporary yet soulful spaces as well as an appreciation for unique shapes and forms.
If you know me, you know that travel is a HUGE source of inspiration for me!
So it should come as no surprise that I’m including two of my favorite travel Instagram accounts in this roundup.
Both @hello_peagreen and @dipaolodelhi’s feeds offer colorful visuals and beautiful photography that give you a closer look at the architecture, culture and humanity in other parts of the world.
Happy Easter. How is it that I've walked this street many times and never spotted this amazing door? I'm going to assume that they've painted it another colour or there has always been a big van parked in front of it. Well, whatever the reason may be I'm going to make up for it by showing it some love. Lots of love in fact. Speaking of architecture, I find that I’m always drawn to the forms, shapes and lines that skilled architects are able to create.
These next two architecture-focused accounts capture structures and details in a way that will make you look at buildings in a whole new way!
F U N K Y 🌟 F O L I A G E ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 'The Cube Houses' were designed by Dutch architect Piet Blom and completed in 1984. Metaphorically, this intriguing Architectural experiment provides the user with the experience of living in trees; each elevated cube represents a tree and collectively they represent a forest. The 38 Cube Houses are all connected together and each cube has a total floor space of approx. 100 sqm, divided into three levels. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 🎧 N.A.S.A • The People Tree ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #lookingup_architecture #sdmtravels #igworldclub #archdaily #residensity #gramheist #natgeotravel #hypegeo #ihavethisthingforwalls #hsdailyfeature #visualambassadors #500px #rustlord_archdesign #theimaged #justgoshoot #creative_architecture #ic_architecture #arquitecturamx #rottergram #roffa #gramuniverse #tv_buildings #architectureape #hotshotz_architecture #architizer #archifeatures #igersrotterdam #rotterdamcity #igersholland
I believe that every well-designed space should have beautiful artwork.
Instagram has become a powerful tool for me to find talented artists around the world.
@Miamalcolmstudio is an artist that I actually had the pleasure of meeting during a trip to High Point Market a few years ago. Thanks to Instagram, we’ve been able to stay connected, and we are using several of her pieces in a design project we are currently working on!
@windyoconnorart is an artist I have not yet had a chance to meet in person, but thanks to several of my designer friends who attended HPMKT in April gushing over her new fabric collection, I reached out to her to talk about how I can use her work in some of my upcoming projects!
I hope this post gives you lots of inspiration to soak up over these warm summer months!
